Apple I Motherboard
Made by Apple Computer Company1976California, United States
An original Apple I logic board, hand-assembled in 1976. Roughly 200 Apple I computers were built, each sold as a bare motherboard to hobbyists who supplied their own case, keyboard, and display. The Apple I marks the transition of computing from institutions to individuals; surviving boards are among the most studied artifacts in the history of personal computing. This example retains its original white ceramic MOS 6502 processor and shows period modifications by its first owner.
