About the Collection

The late Microsoft co-founder assembled the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum's fleet of meticulously restored WWII aircraft — P-51 Mustang, Spitfire, Mitsubishi Zero, Focke-Wulf 190, de Havilland Mosquito — restored to flying condition at Paine Field. Following his death in 2018 the collection passed to his estate.

Custodianship Philosophy

"Restore the machine to flying condition, and you restore the story it carried."
